These targeted incentives, such as "Buy One Get One (BOGO)" or product-specific discounts, are strategically displayed on product pages or during checkout to encourage sales of particular items. By focusing on individual products or categories, retailers can effectively engage customers, drive sales, and enhance the shopping experience.

Example Promotions:

  • Buy One Get One (BOGO): "Buy one pair of shoes, get the second pair 50% off."
  • Bundle Discount: "Purchase a laptop and get 50% off a laptop bag."
  • Product-specific Discount: "Get $20 off the latest smartphone model."

Applications of Item-Level Promotions

  • Product-Specific Discounts: Offer discounts on specific items to encourage sales of new or slow-moving products.
  • Category-Based Promotions: Apply discounts to entire product categories to promote sales of related items.

Item-Level Promotion Templates

Item-level promotion templates provide retailers with a streamlined method to apply discounts or offers directly to specific items within a customer's shopping cart. By leveraging these templates, businesses can effortlessly create and deploy promotions tailored to specific products or categories, optimizing marketing efforts to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.

Promotional Offers:

  • Buy for X, Get the Most Expensive Item Discounted: Encourages customers to purchase a certain threshold amount to receive a discount on the highest-priced item in their cart.
  • Buy X and discount items based on the discount selector: Offers discounts on specific items when a certain quantity or combination of items is purchased.
  • Buy X Get N Discount on P Items: Provides discounts on a specified number of items when a certain quantity of items is purchased together.
  • Buy 1 get the least expensive: Offers a free or discounted item when customers purchase multiple items, with the discount applied to the least expensive item.
  • Gift item level promotion: Provides customers with a gift item when specific conditions are met in their shopping cart.
  • Item level promotion: Applies discounts or offers directly to specific items within a customer's shopping cart.
  • Select the cheapest item: Offers discounts or promotions based on selecting the least expensive item in the cart.

Buy for X, Get the Most Expensive Item Discounted

This promotion offers customers a discount on the most expensive item when customers purchase a specified quantity or amount of items. It encourages them to make larger purchases by providing them with savings on high-value items.

Example: A customer purchases $200 worth of products and receives a 20% discount on the highest-priced item in their cart.

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the Actions section, choose the type of discount you want to offer. Check the box if you prefer a percentage discount on the entire cart. Add the Discount number or percentage and the Threshold i.e. the highest value for the discount to be active.

Step 3: Check the Exclude Qualifying Items checkbox to exclude the discounted item from any further discounts.

Step 4: In the Calculate Rule, choose the rule, add the quantity, and the repeatable. The repeatable indicates the number of times the offer can be repeated. For example, if a customer receives a $500 discount, adding 1 as repeatable means the discount will also be applied if the total shopping cost reaches $1000.

Buy X Get 1 Free

This offer means that when a customer buys a specific number of items (X), they get one item for free. It's like a bonus for buying more stuff. This deal encourages customers to buy more at once, which helps stores sell more and keeps customers happy. It's a win-win situation.

Example: "Purchase two pairs of shoes and get the third pair for free."

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the Selector section, add a condition(s) that need to be met for the discount.

Step 2: Add the Quantity for the number of items to be purchased to get a free item.

Step 3: Add the Limit to decide the maximum discount that can be given.

Step 4: Check the Exclude Qualified items to disqualify the items that are given free, from further promotions.

Step 5: Check the Exclude Qualifying items to disqualify the items that caused the discount, from further promotions.

Buy X and discount items based on the discount selector

This offer allows customers to receive discounts on selected items when they meet specified conditions. For instance, customers might receive a discount when purchasing a certain quantity of items, meeting a particular spend threshold, or fulfilling other criteria such as product attributes.

Example: "Buy 2 pairs of jeans and get 25% off on a selected pair of shoes."

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the discountSelector and qualificationSelector sections, add a condition(s) that need to be met for the discount.

Buy X Get N Discount on P Items

This promotion template offers customers discounts on accessories when they purchase specific items. It encourages customers to explore complementary products by providing discounts on related accessories.

Example: "Buy 2 smartphones and get 20% off on each phone case."

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the preConditionSelector section, add the mattresses that are a prerequisite for unlocking discounts on accessories.

Step 2: In the Selector Section, add mattress accessories eligible for discounts (as you have already chosen the mattresses in the previous step).

Step 3: In the Actions section, specify your maximum discount of 300$, and enable flags based on your specific requirements.

  • If the subtotal of added accessories is below $300, the customer will receive a discount equal to the subtotal of accessories.
  • If the subtotal of accessories is $300 or more, the customer becomes eligible for a fixed discount of $300.

Buy 1 get the least expensive

This promotion allows customers to buy one item and get the least expensive product for free. This encourages customers to purchase more products, helping attract shoppers and increase sales.

Example: "Buy 3 dresses and get the cheapest one for free."

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the Selector section, add a condition(s) that need to be met for the discount.

This offer means that when customers buy a specific item, they receive a designated gift item. The promotion aims to encourage purchases of the specified item by providing an extra gift as a reward.

Example: "Spend $100 on cosmetics and receive a free makeup bag."

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the Selector section, add a condition(s) that need to be met for the discount.

Step 2: In the Gift Item add the item that is given as a gift to the customer. All the item details such as Item, SKU, Quantity, and Item Price.

Step 3: Check the Exclude Qualified Items check box to exclude the discounted item from any further discount.

Step 4: In the Calculate Rule, add the quantity and the repeatable. The repeatable is the number of times the offer can be repeated for example if the customer gets a discount on shopping of $500, adding 1 as repeatable means the discount will also be given if the shopping cost goes to $1000.

Access the Promotions Management component and go to Promotions to set your item-level promotions.

Step 1: In the Determinant, add the conditions that need to be met for the offer to be valid.

Step 2: In the Items section, add the catalog items, SKU, and quantity of the items that need to be added to the list.
