Product Data Model
UpStart Commerce gives you a powerful and flexible way to manage your product data. This means you can easily customize it to fit your specific needs, no matter how unique your business is.
We understand that product data models can be complex. That's why we'll break down the key concepts behind UpStart Commerce's product model in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Define groups of similar products based on specific characteristics, such as "Product," "Protection Plan," "Warranty," or "Bundle." These groups streamline product creation, enhance browsing, and enable targeted promotions. Product Types are a template of attributes from which Products are created.
Products serve as the foundation for your catalog. Think of them as blueprints defining a group of goods with shared characteristics. These characteristics come from Product Types, which act like templates, pre-populating relevant details and streamlining creation. When a new Product is created, it must have a Product Type.
Individual, sellable items within a product are called Product Variants. The Products instance uses these blueprints and their associated details, ready to spawn a universe of diverse, yet cohesive, variations within your UpStart Commerce store.
Tags are like secret keys that unlock discoverability. Assign multiple tags to each product, crafting a web of interconnected keywords that guide consumers to their desired items.
Swatches showcase color variations of a product. Add all available shades and textures on a single swatch, which helps streamline customer selection.
Create a logical structure for your catalog. This allows you to define Categories that group products based on type, marketing concerns, or search functionality.
