What is Cordial?

Cordial is a third-party service integrated with the Upstart Commerce Portal. It leverages real-time data to help retailers execute cross-channel marketing campaigns that drive sales and boost customer engagement. By collecting data from various services within the Upstart Commerce Portal—such as Catalog, Location, Shipping, and Pricing—Cordial structures this data into a specific JSON format required for its platform. This enables the creation of dynamic and personalized marketing content, such as promotional campaigns and targeted product recommendations.

For integration of Cordial with the UpStart Commerce portal, clients are required to subscribe to Cordial services independently. Integration with our portal will be facilitated through the API key provided by Cordial. UpStart Commerce is not responsible for the subscription or service terms of Cordial.

How Upstart Commerce and Cordial Platform Communicate

Upon subscribing to Cordial, clients are provided with an API key, which is generated and allocated to their account. This API key is required during the configuration process to enable seamless communication between the UpStart Commerce portal and Cordial. The API key ensures smooth integration and data exchange between the two platforms.

How Upstart Commerce is Using Cordial

Upstart Commerce leverages Cordial to manage data feeds tailored for marketing purposes:

Data Feed Integration

Data feed based integration focuses on marketing products and their variants. Key aspects include:

  • Product Data Requirements: Active products and relevant data, including variants and images, are compiled into a structured feed that is uploaded to the Cordial account for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Activation and Deactivation Dates: Configuration for marketing products includes setting activation and deactivation dates. This ensures that the most up-to-date information from the store database is used for marketing campaigns.

How Cordial Works

Cordial's integration utilizes job schedulers in two environments:

  1. Upstart Commerce Portal Job Scheduler: This scheduler collects and prepares data from internal services (Catalog, Location, Shipping, and Pricing) and structures it in the JSON format specified by Cordial.
  2. Cordial Platform Job Scheduler: This scheduler fetches the structured data from the Upstart Commerce Portal to power marketing campaigns.

How to Configure Cordial

Follow these steps to configure Cordial for data feed in the Upstart Commerce Portal:

Step 1: Accessing Cordial Feed Screen

After logging in, navigate to the side menu of the Upstart Commerce Portal. Scroll down and click on Integration Config. In the expanded menu on the left, locate and click Cordial to access Cordial Feed screen.

Step 2: Define the Cordial Configuration Attributes

Initiate the Cordial feed configuration process by providing the following essential details:

  • Cordial URL: Enter the Admin URL provided by Cordial upon signing up to their services. This URL is used to access and interact with Cordial's APIs.
  • API Key: Provide the API key issued by Cordial upon subscription. This key is required for authenticating API requests.

In the Upstart Data Configuration section, set up the data configuration by providing the following details:

  • Page URL Prefix: Enter the landing page URL prefix for your online retail store.
  • Email Address: Specify the email address associated with your Cordial account.
  • Image URL Prefix: Provide the URL prefix where all your image data is hosted.
  • Default Price Zone: Indicate the geographical zone for which the feed will include product data and corresponding pricing.

In the Job Sceduler section, you can configure the job scheduling details. Define the exact time for the job to start and select the frequency—daily, weekly, or monthly—for the job to run.

Step 4: Save the Settings

After completing all the required details, you can choose to either Save and Run the Cordial Feed to update and execute it immediately, or simply Save to apply the updates and allow the feed to run at its scheduled time. You also have the option to Activate or Deactivate the Integration at any time by using the toggle button provided in the Active Integration section.

How to Edit Cordial Configurations

Step 1: Accessing Cordial Configuration

Log in and navigate to the side menu of the Upstart Commerce Portal. Scroll down and click on Integration Config. In the expanded menu on the left, locate and click Cordial to access Cordial Feed screen.

Step 2: Update the Details

Update any necessary details in the Upstart Data Configurations section or alter the Job Scheduler frequency.

Step 3: Save to Update

After making the necessary changes, click Save and Run to apply the updates immediately and execute the feed, or select Save to apply the updates and allow the feed to run at its scheduled time.
